This validation workshop [1] is organized in the framework of a project entitled ‘Food loss reduction strategy development in favour of smallholder producers in Africa Phase 1’ launched in 2014. It is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by FAO in eleven (Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe) African countries in partnership with respective Ministries of Agriculture. The validation workshop will present findings from loss assessment studies that have been conducted along supply chains for a range of different commodities, including maize, millet, potato, legumes and horticulture.
