Science Policy Bridges Over Troubled Waters: Making Science Deliver Greater Impacts in Shared Water Systems
Library
Publication Date: September 2012
This report is a study of almost 200 major international water-related projects over the past 20 years. It was done as a collaboration between the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the largest public funder of projects to improve the global environment and promote sustainable development, the United Nations University and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). It concludes that insufficient and disjointed management of human demands on water and aquatic systems has led to situations where both social and ecological systems are in jeopardy and have even collapsed.
