QRM 13 South Sudan IPs Project Update -FAO, WFP, WorldVision, NRC, AVIS, IRC, ZOA CordAid_June 2022
QRM13, is the meeting to be held post Covid-19 pandemic in South Sudan. The theme for this QRM is Building Food Systems Resilience in the Face of increasing Shocks and Stresses in South Sudan-Lessons and Opportunities. The presentation here was made by partners currently funded by the EU to implement Food Security Projects in South Sudan.
The broad objectives of the QRMs are to serve as a platform for coordination, lesson learning, synergy building, information sharing, capacity building, and sharing of best practices amongst EU partners and stakeholders. The concept of QRMs was anchored on the understanding that the EU funded Rural Development Programme is designed to contribute to a unified common objective, "To contribute to improved food and nutrition of targeted households in South Sudan". More specifically, the QRMs aim to enhance synergies, harmonise approaches, and build coherence among all implementing partners engaged in different aspects of the EU Rural Development programme in South Sudan.
By December 2019, 12 QRMs had been held and facilitated by the EU TA in South Sudan and across the different target states hosting the EU rural development projects. The desire is to have one QRM every quarter, but this has not been possible due to unforeseen circumstances. More recently, and following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has not been possible to convene any QRMs in the country. With the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions in 2021, the EU observes that conditions are now ripe for the resumption of the QRMs, paving the way for improved cross learning amongst the implementing partners and stakeholders.
