FAO South Sudan Resilience Strategy 2016–2018
FAO South Sudan Resilience Strategy 2016–2018.
The South Sudan Resilience Strategy has been developed to bridge the humanitarian and development frameworks. Building on FAO’s portfolio of interventions in South Sudan over the past three years, the objective is to increase the resilience of livelihoods, including the protection of the most vulnerable population groups, and enhance livelihood-based productive sectors, while also reducing vulnerability to shocks and stressors.
The strategy will be implemented over an initial period of three years (2016-2018), with built-in mechanisms for review and adjustments. It employs a conflict-sensitive approach that allows programming flexibility and scalability during the transitional government period and insecurity. Moreover, the strategy will facilitate a smooth transition into the development phase when stability and peace is attained.
