If you wish to hand over ownership of the group you need to contact the capacity4dev team http://capacity4dev.ec.europa.eu/contact. Please provide the name of the user selected and make sure he/she is already member of your group.

Changing from private to a public group means all your contents of this group will become publicly accessible and searchble through Google
Making your group private if it was public means that all links to ressources in this group you had posted / sent by email will become broken unaccessible unless the persons trying to acces them are logged on capacity4dev AND are members of this group
Private Groups : best way to invite users to a private group
Inviting users to your private group through the platform directly can be tricky as there are complex workflows in play to ensure security is not breached
