EUWI newsletter ‘Waterworld’

The new EUWI newsletter ‘WaterWorld’ is being launched now to coincide with the 10 year anniversary of the EUWI which was established at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg (26 August – 4 September, 2002). WaterWorld will be a periodic publication that will provide news about the EUWI, its activities and issues of interest in the water sector. It is intended to promote communication and information exchange between EUWI stakeholders and to raise awareness and understanding about EU activities related to the water sector globally.

The ACP-EU Water Facility is one of the first results of the European Union Water Initiative (EUWI). The initiative, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, is an international policy partnership that has successfully helped to improve access to water across the world and to put water at the heart of development policies.

Water Project Toolkit

The JRC and EuropeAid (the European Commission's Directorate General for development and cooperation) have published a toolkit to improve water resources management in developing countries. It is available both as a report and an interactive online tool and will be launched in Marseille on March 13 in the context of the World Water Forum.
