"Ceux de la Casbah" by Jean Baptiste Fauvel - the story of how one community's European ancestors came to settle in Burkina Faso.
Jean-Baptiste Fauvel, Programme Manager with the EU Delegation to Burkina Faso, spends his spare time researching the history and context of the local people. This lively and well researched story tells the extraordinary tale of a desert crossing by an army of renegades, an ancient battle and the remaining, unexpected blood ties that he learned of in two small desert communities. It is illustrated by the author's own photos.
